Law Guide USA is a free online resource that explains U.S. law in plain English. We publish clear, practical guides to help everyday people understand their rights, know what to expect, and feel more confident about the legal questions that come up in real life.
Why We Started Law Guide USA
Legal problems rarely arrive at a convenient time. A car accident, a divorce, a sudden job loss, or a police stop can leave people with urgent questions and very little reliable information. Much of what is available online is either too technical to follow or written mainly to sell a service.
We created Law Guide USA to close that gap. Our goal is simple: give readers straightforward answers to common legal questions, explained in language anyone can understand, so they can make informed decisions about their next step.
What We Cover
Our guides focus on the areas of law that affect people most often:
- Personal Injury — car accidents, injury claims, compensation, insurance issues, and filing deadlines.
- Family Law — divorce, child custody, child support, and parenting arrangements.
- Criminal Law — arrests, traffic stops, misdemeanors and felonies, and criminal records.
- Employment Law — wrongful termination, unpaid overtime, discrimination, harassment, and medical leave.
- Estate Planning — wills, living trusts, probate, and powers of attorney.
- State Legal Guides — how the law works in specific states, such as California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Oklahoma.
We add new guides every week and expand our state-by-state coverage over time.
How We Write Our Guides
Every article is written with the same principles in mind:
- Plain English first. We avoid legal jargon wherever possible and explain the terms we do use.
- Built on reliable sources. Our guides are based on federal and state laws, court rules, and official government resources.
- Practical and organized. We break topics into clear sections and focus on what readers actually need to know and do.
- Kept current. Laws and deadlines change, so we review and update our guides when the rules change.
- Honest about limits. We point out when the answer depends on your state or your specific facts, and when it is time to speak with a lawyer.
Who Our Guides Are For
Law Guide USA is written for individuals and families — people dealing with an accident, a family change, a workplace problem, or planning ahead for the future. Our guides are also a helpful starting point for anyone who wants to understand a legal topic before meeting with an attorney, so they can ask better questions and make the most of that conversation.
Important Note
Law Guide USA is a legal information publisher, not a law firm. The content on this site is for general educational purposes only and is not legal advice. Reading our guides does not create an attorney–client relationship. Because laws vary by state and every situation is different, we encourage readers to speak with a licensed attorney in their state about their specific circumstances.
